Mikepércsi Anyák

About us:
The Mothers for the Environment Association of Mikepércs was founded on 14 March 2023 in response to the planned battery factories in the Debrecen area. Since then, it has grown into a nationwide movement. Through public hearings, legal actions, conferences, demonstrations (including the Mikepércs Walk), petitions, and ANYÁDMÉR air pollution monitoring initiatives, the organization advocates for environmental protection and public health. Its work has gained international attention, and its president, Éva Kozma, received the TASZ Freedom Award.

Project Description:
n Hajdú-Bihar County, particularly in the Debrecen area, the expansion of battery factories, logistics facilities, and chemical industry plants has increased environmental risks, including airborne dust, noise pollution, water use, and the spread of hazardous substances. At the same time, the capacity of official monitoring authorities has declined, public trust has weakened (including confidence in the ZöldŐrszem monitoring system), and local residents often lack effective means to express their concerns.
The project’s objective is to make environmental information more accessible and to strengthen democratic dialogue.
